Plaquex®, made of phosphatidylcholine (PC), has been in use for the past 70 years. Phosphatidylcholine is a natural substance (phospholipid), which makes up all cell membranes in the body. It also makes an important neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. The presence of unsaturated fatty acids in the cells membranes is crucial for proper functioning of many enzymes, particularly those involved in detoxification and lipid metabolism. As we get older, the body’s own synthesis of PC declines. 

PC has an ability to break down fats therefore may be used to reduce fat deposits in and on the walls of the arteries.
